2026 SPRING SUMMER
DUALITY

Viator Felis is Latin for “traveling cat”, reflecting a mindset of movement, curiosity, and transformation.

Founded by Shawn Lin, the project is shaped by lived experience in Taiwan, Japan, and the United States, and by the subcultures that have influenced the designer most. Viator Felis began from a desire to express personal duality and to move beyond fixed categories.

Rooted in a rugged aesthetic and equally informed by feminine sensibilities, Viator Felis brings contrasting elements together to explore new perspectives. It is an ongoing journey of connecting different cultures and aesthetic values, and exploring what new possibilities can emerge from that fusion.

The Duality collection explores new perspectives through the fusion of contrasting sensibilities, bringing rugged, rebellious culture into dialogue with softness and feminine elegance. Rather than leaning fully to one side, the collection aims to create a neutral point of view between the two.

Inspired by motorcycle and skate cultures, as well as military and workwear references, the designs reinterpret utilitarian forms through a softer lens. Delicate fabrics, gentle color tones, and softly shaped silhouettes are used to reshape familiar structures and suggest new ways of dressing.

Through these contrasts, Duality searches for a new balance.

Duality collection

Shawn treats textiles as a form of storytelling. Warm tweeds, silk-nylon, high-quality color denim, and finely combed cotton gabardine—each material softens hard silhouettes and reveals a new kind of strength. Selected not just for quality but for feeling, these fabrics embody Viator Felis’s core: quiet rebellion, emotional tension, and elegance in contrast.

Fabric as voice

For the lookbook, Shawn intentionally cast only a female model to express both the masculine and feminine sides within the same person. Through different attitudes and ways of wearing pieces such as the softly rounded, slightly cocoon-shaped work coat, the soft unconstructed double-breasted suit, and the biker jacket made from refined cotton-silk, Shawn aimed to present a style that moves beyond conventional preconceptions.

Lookbook

In the name Viator Felis, “Felis” is drawn from Neofelis, the scientific name of the clouded leopard. Its rare and beautiful markings have become an iconic symbol of Viator Felis. Elusive and rarely seen, the clouded leopard moves through the forest like a drifting cloud, appearing and disappearing without warning. Its name comes not only from its cloud-like pattern, but also from its presence: quiet, powerful, and hard to define.

This original print draws from the essence of the animal. Shapes move across the fabric, some sharp, others fading, echoing the leopard’s movement and the contrast that lies at the heart of the collection. It reflects what Viator Felis stands for: strength in subtlety, elegance in unpredictability, and freedom through transformation.

Textile design

“DUALITY” COLLECTION
RUNWAY PRESENTATIONS

The Viator Felis Duality collection was presented in runway form at both NYFW and LAFW.
Each presentation offered its own quiet interpretation of the theme, allowing the silhouettes, textures, and pace of movement to speak for themselves.
Rather than repeating a single viewpoint, the two runways revealed different temperaments within the same universe — expanding the collection’s range and the ways in which duality can be felt and understood.

At NYFW, Shawn presented a modern expression rooted in New York’s spirit — a style that transcends gender and cultural boundaries. From a pale-blue silk-nylon biker-inspired jacket paired with a lace bandana to silhouettes that merge softness and strength, the collection conveys a message of freedom — encouraging individuals to move beyond traditional conventions and embrace their own identity.

2025 NYFW

At LAFW, Shawn embraced the rich lifestyle and free-spirited culture of Los Angeles. While maintaining the brand’s quiet and soft aesthetic, he introduced relaxed styling and cultural elements such as helmets and skateboards. Through these contrasts, the presentation expressed the duality of lifestyle, diversity, and the sense of possibility at the heart of Viator Felis.
